What Is Endoscopic Spine Surgery?

Endoscopic spine surgery is an ultra-minimally invasive technique that uses a small camera and specialized instruments to access the spine through a small incision, helping to limit disruption to surrounding tissue. For patients who are concerned about traditional surgery, this approach may offer a less invasive option that can support a faster return to daily activities.1

The endoscope, which is about the width of a pencil tip, allows surgeons to view and treat specific sources of nerve compression and degenerative changes with precision. In some cases, this procedure may be performed as outpatient back surgery, allowing patients to return home the same day.
